Learn the basics of contemporary upholstery in a vibrant class of makers, fabric fanatics and furniture enthusiasts. Over the course of this one day workshop you’ll transform a simple frame into your own creative statement
Beginning with a locally-made ottoman base, you’ll learn to apply hessian, work with foam & wadding and apply fabric, piping and buttons before topping it off with professional dust. cover and adding Australian turned timber legs.
Course cost is $330 and includes the ottoman base and all upholstery supplies* and morning Tea. For lunch, students will find plenty of grounet goodies at carriageworks farmer’s market below our class room.
No rush, no pressure – Spend a Saturday discovering the pleasure of Upholstery.
* Students are requested to supply their own fabric. This is a chance to get creative, upcycle teatowels, favorite clothing, remnants and more.A fabric source guide is sent to you upon enrolment and will answer all your questions!
