I beat out 4 other potential buyers when I saw this puppy being unloaded in front of my favourite second hand haunt. He had a couple of ‘almost’ lives for various clients before he ended up a whim piece.
His bones have been sanded and scrubbed, stained, waxed and tightened.
He’s got scales on his back wings and hinges in front which allow him to adjust to 3 degrees of comfort. Something about him is old and wise and I wanted him to have a little navajo flavour. The yellow blanket reminds me of cold and campfires and needing to rug up outdoors. On that angle, it lends itself well to the navajo pattern embroidery on the back – and a little arm banding never goes astray.
He’s gone to a good home and will be joined by a suite of my dining chairs in due time.
