After 4 exciting years of working with clients on upholstery projects, heirlooms and hero pieces, teaching a wave of new DIY upholstery addicts, and resurrecting a mountain of furniture, it’s time for MAAIKE to take the next step.
I’ve had the good fortune to undertake more and more design work, and it’s time to give it my undivided attention. To this end, I will no longer be taking on general re-upholstery commissions, and will be closing the shopfront to focus on Furniture Design.
There will be a brief hiatus while we restructure the studio and take some time to explore new opportunities. Design Commissions and custom builds will be available again in July, and we look forward to sharing a signature collection of bold, bright, textural furniture with you all in the coming months.
Workshops are also on hiatus. The last Upholstery Resurrection Class has run, and the last Atomic Ottoman class is scheduled for Saturday 3rd of June at the CEAD Centre next to Carriageworks (North eveleigh/newtown).
Sign up to the e-news or keep an eye on MAAIKE via social media to be in the loop if workshops resume.
Let’s keep in touch! As things progress I’ll be updating the website, and sharing the fun stuff on social media. The blog will return in July to provide your regular dose of concept furniture and design.
