Happiness. By Maaike.
I have 5 chairs in a tower of happiness in one corner of my room, as well as a recent 50s atomic roller derby number I picked up for a sewing chair.
There are two arm chairs, and a three seater couch in my loungeroom, just joined by a sofa of delicate proportions, and a third arm chair in the office.
The challenge is somewhat like a jigsaw puzzle – or Mr Squiggle. I have some of the information, most of the pieces, and it’s anyone’s game. Well, mine…

The couch and the chair are unrelated in form, proportion and personality. The two feature fabrics I have been given are exciting, but another tangent again, and the bulk solids of upholstery we bought last expedition are waiting patiently for me to come to some decision.
All I can think about the red silk satin is LUO BROS. Where was this when I was making Chairman Mao – And is this the fate of the epic third mao stencil I made for just such a rainy day? And if I am to splice people in to Mao’s pensive head, isn’t that very situationist, in which case I should applique and collage a madness of symbols…
